1. If you are observant, you will notice that the number on the right-hand side of the main equation equals the number of circles in the left-hand cluster.

Example: 8809: number 8 has two circles, 0 has one and 9 has one. So 8809 = 6

And our answer: 2581 = 2.

2. This sentence is a bit complicated. Try setting the calculator, you will see the number in the top row will equal the sum of the two numbers at the bottom minus 15.

Example: 446 = 198 + 263 - 15.

679 = 263 + 431 - 15.

So we have the answer: D = 679 + 681 - 15 = 1345; E = D + 1110 - 15 = 1345 + 1110 - 15 = 2440.
