A 150kg marine creature washed up on the Australian beach

Experts believe that this may be grouper, but it is unclear why this creature died and washed away.

John Lindholm and his wife discovered the body of a fish weighing about 150kg and 1.8m long washed ashore at Moore Park in Queensland, Australia, the International Business Times on March 8 reported. Lindholm had never seen such a fish and could not determine which species it belonged to.

"I thought this might be grouper, but it doesn't seem to match what people describe to me ," Lindholm said. He shares this image on social networks so others can help find this animal. Some say that this is grouper, cod or sea perch.

It seems that the fish does not suffer any physical damage, Lindholm said. He thought it might have lived long enough and until death.

The Queensland Fishing and Boat Operations Authority (QBFP) consulted with experts at the Queensland Museum to determine which species this species belongs to. Although the state of the fish makes it difficult for experts to conclude, they believe this is grouper . The expert group also did not know the reason why the fish died and washed up on the beach.

In Queensland, fishing and possession of grouper is prohibited."If you accidentally catch the creatures that are on the list of protection, you should not move them out of the country but quickly drop them back into the water , " said a spokesman at QBFP.
