A group of helpless monkeys watched pythons strangling

Meanwhile, dozens of other monkeys in the vicinity also rushed to find ways to save fellow. However, every time they approached, the python poked its head and bared its menacing teeth, causing the apes to flee in panic. A monkey successfully approaches and grabs the tail of its kind that is stuck out of its predator but gives up because the snake is too strong. Finally, the python left the monkey's body and crawled away.

"I was very touched to see the monkeys save you, but it was a pity that they did not succeed. I think the python left because the area was too noisy so it could eat its prey , " Pranimit said. .

Pranimit is not clear what species the python is. According to the National Park Authority of Thailand, there are three native species of python in this country: broiled python, Burmese python and Brongersma short-tailed python.

  1. Python reticulatus is a common python species in Southeast Asia. This is one of the longest and heaviest pythons in the world. Cloud pythons have no venom and specialize in squeezing bait to swallow.
  2. Burmese python (Python bivittatus) is among the top 5 largest pythons in the world. They live in water and on trees, can be up to 6 m long. Burmese pythons are strong, able to bite or kill their prey with great force.
  3. Brongersma short-tail python is the smallest of the three native python species in Thailand. They have a length of 1 m, mainly working at dawn and dusk.
