Hearing the sound of his son screaming, Mr. Tien - his father - ran back and saw that his arms, stomach and legs were wet and steamy. He rushed to the Duc Giang Hospital for emergency treatment and was transferred to Saint Paul Hospital.

Doctor Nguyen Thong, Head of the Burn Department, Saint Paul Hospital, said the boy had a deep burn, a large area of burns, had to be treated aggressively.

According to Dr. Thong, cases of children with boiled water burns like Nam are not uncommon in recent times. Faculty is treating about 50 patients, up to 35 cases are young children. In December 2014, there were 47 pediatric patients from 1 to 6 years of age who were outpatient.

'Successfully, in the coming months, the rate of children admitted to hospital due to burns increased suddenly. The reason is that adults are negligent, busy cleaning houses, doing housework without caring about children. Notably, these children are under 3 years old, unaware of the potential danger. Only one minute of carelessness by adults is a danger that can happen to children right away , 'Dr. Thong said.

Doctors recommend that children 2-5 years old are very active, curious, unaware of the danger, so their safety depends entirely on their parents' awareness and skills. Children are more likely to burn when adults leave burnable objects such as boiling water, hot soup, cooking stove, hot irons . within the reach of children or where children often go back and forth. As a precaution, parents need to keep these in places where they cannot touch or reach.

If the child accidentally burns, the parents must calm down, remove the clothes with boiling water, soak the burn area in cool water, preferably 16-20 degrees Celsius, soak for 15-30 minutes. In the absence of it, use clean, cool water right next to it, from the tap. Note in the current cold weather if the area of burns is large, the child is too young, the time for soaking in cool water should not be too long, preventing the child from getting cold.

When soaking is finished, the dressing is lightly pressed, taken to a medical facility. In the process, children can be compensated in advance with orange juice, lemon juice, salt sugar. At burns it is recommended not to use chicken eggs, batches, soy sauce, kerosene, very toxic. Also, remove the clothes before the burns are swollen, taking care to remove the baby's clothes if the clothes stick to the burn. Do not remove anything from the burn.
