Groundbreaking ceremony of ancient Egypt

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Egyptians was called "foundation rites". In the series of rituals , the first is to use a small rope to measure the size of the building and align the direction of the temple according to the star or compass. The ceremony was closely linked to Seshat , the goddess of writing and measurement.

Many people believe that the ancient Egyptians used a notch-shaped stick to observe the Big Bear's constellation, helping them accurately calculate the position of the North and the direction of construction.

The next ritual is "hoe land" , similar to the modern earthquake ceremony. The first Pharaoh (or Pharaoh representative) of the temple with a wooden pickaxe, symbolizes crossing the Earth to the upper limit of Nun , the original water god. Pharaoh then uses a wooden mold to cast a mud brick and place it on the foundation, representing the first bricks used for the building.

Pharaoh poured a thin layer of sand from the banks of the Nile to the grooves in the foundation. The builder will fill the rest with sand taken from the Nile, making the foundation of the building become smoother. Pharaoh used a wooden lever to push a large block of stone into a corner of the temple, signaling the beginning of construction. When the project is completed, the temple will be purified before being put into use.

The last part is the dedication ceremony of the temple to the god. Pharaoh is in front of the image of a god sitting in a temple, celebrating and praying. Many animals become sacrifices .

Modern archaeologists also found money, ceramic plates, bowls, offerings (made of porcelain, limestone, and wood) buried in important places around the construction of ancient Egyptians. great.
