The United Nations Science, Education and Culture Organization has recognized the BaKu Ancient Citadel, Shirvanshah Palace and the Maiden Tower of Azerbaijan as a World Cultural Heritage in 2000.

The palace Shirvan-Shah was built in the 15th century at the time of King Shirvanshah Khalilulla and his son King Faruk.
