Bicycles 'eat' haze and release clean air in China

A Dutch designer who plans to use a bicycle model can suck in polluted dust and release fresh air in China.

Before the development of China's bike-sharing program, Daan Roosegaarde, a Dutch inventor, who designed air purification towers in China, wanted to use dust-absorbing bikes and Giving fresh air, Motherboard on 21/5 reported.

Three years ago, Daan Studio Roosegaarde's design and technology company launched the No-Smog Project after he went to Beijing and witnessed the effects of air pollution firsthand.

"There are days, I can't see anything across the street," Daan said. "The project aims to realize the dream of fresh air, clean water and green energy".

After introducing the air filter tower, Daan is planning to apply the same idea on bicycles, using the ionization process to suck tiny particles, which make up the dust.

"In this process, the dust particles are compressed and joined together, making them unable to separate. When exposed to negative charge surfaces, they will immediately become dust particles of much greater mass. After 1-2 months, we just need to clean that surface, " Daan explained.

To solve the car theft problem, Daan proposed giving rewards to users."You can borrow the car, then return it with the filter that is full, you can even receive the reward. The rewards will be in the project, but we don't know how and where to reward it." , Daan said.

According to Daan, the air purification process will use the energy associated with cycling and small solar panels. The project is still in the first phase but has recorded many positive reactions. Daan's initial goal is to focus on China, then towards countries that are facing heavy dust pollution like India.
