Can you survive a T-Rex by standing still?

In the famous Jurassic Park movie, there is a scene of a visiting delegation attacked by a T-Rex tyrant dinosaur in a thunderstorm. In that scene, Dr. Alan Grant, a paleontologist, shouted: 'Don't run, it can't see us if we don't move.' In the movie it seems to work, but can we really fool a T-Rex just by not being silent? Although scientists cannot conduct practical tests, with archaeological and biological knowledge they tried to explain the truth.

>>>Tyrant dinosaurs have tens of times the bite

Maybe you don't know the movie Jurassic Park has taken dinosaur data from previous research projects. However, due to the lack of science and technology and knowledge at the time, the assessment of extinct dinosaurs was not accurate.

In 1993, Professor Kent Stevens at the University of Oregon conducted a study called DinoMorph , to apply digital techniques to model extinct dinosaurs for practical research.

He successfully built the model of two famous carnivorous dinosaurs, T-Rex and Velociraptor. Through these models, he continued to conduct visual research and vision of these two dinosaurs.

In 2006, Stevens published the results of his research and assesses the visual ability of T-Rex with different subjects. He said, T-Rex's vision is even better than what we previously rated . According to the study, the eyes of these carnivorous dinosaurs are similar to today's predatory birds. Even the vision of a T-Rex is bigger than a hawk (more than 55 degrees).

However, wide vision is not all, new vision is an important issue for predators. Stevens went on to research with animals with relatives close to dinosaurs such as chickens, crocodiles or other reptiles. According to the evaluation of these animals' eyesight and the eyeball size of a T-Rex. The results show that a T-Rex has four times the visual acuity of an eagle or a crocodile, and is 13 times higher than human eyesight. They can clearly see an object at a distance of 6 km, while humans can only see clearly at a distance below 1.6 km.

Concluding his research, Professor Stevens said that the eyesight of the tyrant dinosaurs is surprising, they can clearly see objects that are prey even when they are running or standing motionless.

Not only are their visas excellent, their sense of smell and hearing are also very developed . The olfactory area and large sensing cells make it have a sense of smell similar to that of vultures today. They can smell the smell of corpses from a few kilometers away. Therefore, as long as you sweat and gasp in fear, a T-Rex can detect you before it sees you.

With such senses, they are the most dangerous predator ever. So you won't have a chance to survive if you encounter a real-life T-Rex.
