Cats are not heartless, on the contrary, they are more affectionate than humans

Many people still think that dogs are loyal and affectionate companions while cats are just cute, pet-loving and somewhat aloof pets. However, according to recent research, cats can actually engage with their friends similar to dogs, even slightly .

This statement may not be surprising to those who have been with cats for a long time, but scientifically it highlights two important points.

First, humans clearly underestimate the deep connection of cats to their owners. Secondly, dogs are not monopoly animals that naturally associate with humans. Like dogs, cats also have the ability to show social flexibility and strong attachment in relationships .

Cats are not really their pet-like appearance.

To demonstrate cat behavior, the team observed how they responded to their owners in a strange environment. The whole test was conducted as follows.

Cats and their owners will be arranged together in a strange room. The owner will sit in a circle drawn in the middle of the room. After a short period of time, if the cat enters the circle area, it proves that humans can interact with it.

After 2 minutes, the owner left the cat alone. At this time, the cat's behavior and gestures continue to be monitored to determine the psychological state. After another two minutes, the owner returned to the room and sat down again to check the cat's reaction.

This type of experiment was done with dogs and rhesus monkeys, and is now applied to cats. Each of the aforementioned animals forms two states of safe and unsafe psychology. When the owner is present, the safety status will be higher, making the pet feel relaxed and continue to explore the strange environment around them. On the other hand, in the absence of the owner, most pets will fall into an unsafe state when exhibiting unusual stressful behaviors.

Testing has shown that cats have very high connectivity.

The team conducted experiments on a total of 79 kittens and 38 adult cats. Adult cats only participated in the trial once, but the kittens were tested twice (once at first and two months later).

Among the test cats, there were 9 cases that could not be classified, but 65.8% of the cats were in a safe state and 35.7% were in an unsafe state. It is this safe percentage that will be used as a measure of the cats' ability to deeply connect.

This is clearly an interesting figure as 65.8% is the equivalent of a safety ratio of 65% seen in infants. Cats even show a slightly higher safety rate than dogs. In the same way, a 2018 result announced a dog safety ratio of 61%.

The entire work of Vitale to prove cats are not cold as heartless as shown on their appearance . In fact, cute cats are very sociable and affectionate. Cats often prefer to interact with humans than food or toys. The indifferent coldness of cats or the intimacy of dogs are simply a way of expressing the appearance of each animal.
