Xinhua said the one-chamber tomb was discovered in Kailu district, located in the eastern part of the area called Inner Mongolia. The roof of the tomb is decorated with frescoes.

Meanwhile, in the tomb, archaeologists have found valuable objects, especially those made of glass and gold.

They also found burial stones, including two large pieces of granite. It is estimated that this material could be brought here from other regions.

In terms of structure and design, the tomb was probably built at the beginning of the era of the Lia dynasty (916-1125 CE) and belonged to the royal class.

However, the head of the excavation team Lian Jilin noted that the identity of the tomb owner has not been determined.

Earlier, experts discovered an entire royal tomb area less than a kilometer above the tomb. In ancient times, this was the city and country of Lia Chao, founded by Zhuge A Bao Co in 902.

This king was the ruler of the kagan of nomadic tribes that once lived in the north of China.
