Based on the excavated parts, the archaeological team identified the dinosaur species as a plant-eating species, living in the mid-Jurassic period, about 165 million years ago.

Professor Sun Ge said the dinosaurs were found to be about 35m long and weighed about 30 tons. This is the largest dinosaur discovered in China so far. The largest dinosaur in the Jurassic period discovered in China was less than 30 meters long.
