Detecting many artifacts of primitive people in the Central Highlands

From hundreds of stone and meteorite artifacts in An Khe town (Gia Lai), archaeologists from Vietnam and Russia evaluated them to be dated to about a million years. This is the first milestone of the emergence of people in the territory of Vietnam.

On the morning of April 11, Dr. Nguyen Gia Cho, Deputy Director of the Institute of Archeology, said that in 2014, the staff of the Institute of Archeology discovered five old stone age relics in An Khe town, Gia Lai province. In 2015, archaeologists have unearthed and excavated in March 2016 with the help of the Institute of Archeology - Ethnology of Novosibirsk (Russian Federation).

At the excavation pits of Go Da relic (An Binh ward, An Khe town), scientists found 58 stone artifacts, including spearhead tools, chopper-type tools, scrapers, stone pieces, and stripped pieces. . Most are made of quartz stones; scraping made from small stripped pieces. In this excavation pit, 21 meteorites were found.

Cluster of Ruoc Tung relic (Xuan An commune, An Khe town), the research team excavated 2 points is Roc Tung 1 area 48m 2 and Roc Tung 4 area 20m 2 . The cultural relics floor at two points is 30-35cm thick, preserved intact.

At the excavation hole of Rut 1, scientists found 46 artifacts, including tools of sharpening, sharpening, cutting, rough cutting, stripped pieces, pebble pieces . and 102 meteorite pieces. In Roc Tung 4, there were 77 similar stone artifacts and 25 meteorite pieces in the layer containing stone tools.

In particular, at the Ruoc Tung 1 site, there is a high concentration of quartz stones and river boulders, including working tools and meteorites. Therefore, it is possible that this is the ground plan of the residence of the primitive people who were built against the muddy in the rainy season.

The most valuable in the collection is the double-sided tools and hand-crafted axes with high technical and aesthetic qualities that characterize the ancient dark hand ax of mankind.

Dr. Nguyen Gia Cho said that according to the initial assessment of domestic and foreign scientists, the relics are the place of residence and the processing place of primitive stone tools. Man-made and used stone tools are important in determining the age of monuments. However, human remains and plants and animals have not been found yet.

In the chronology of An Khe relic , archaeologists evaluated this area on the oldest shelf of Ba River, about a million years ago. More than 20 meteorite specimens in the An Khe region analyzed in the Russian Federation date to about 770,000 years. Thus, the age of man-made stone preparations in An Khe is at least equal to or more ancient. This chronicle is equivalent to the period of ape that stands upright and is one of the ancestors of modern people in the world.

The archaeological mission considers that the discoveries of old stone monuments in An Khe are evidence that the upper Ba river, An Khe area, is the habitat of the ancient resident community of about 800,000 years ago. This is considered the first milestone of the emergence of people in the territory of Vietnam.

According to Professor Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the archaeological archaeological sites of the old stone are interested by many domestic and foreign researchers. Although there have been many studies showing that Stone Age people live in many places, but the relics in An Khe and meteorite dating from 700,000-800,000 years will convince international scientists that relics in Vietnam. even more ancient in some ruins of the world excavated.

Before some ideas that have not had a dating basis for nearly a million years, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang said that these are initial evaluations of Russian archaeologists and experts on a number of objects assessed in Russia. . In the coming time, the Academy of Social Sciences will cooperate with Gia Lai province to continue archeology and consult geological and historical experts.
