Discover new leeches with 3 jaws and 59 teeth

The leeches discovered in Washington DC are the first new strange creatures discovered since 1975.

Scientists have identified it as having three sets of jaws and 59 teeth. The area was discovered in a swamp near Washington DC.

New leeches have been discovered in the United States.

The new leech has been nicknamed by scientists Macrobdella mimicus . Medically it is considered a quite useful tool because it easily drains human blood with such structure.

The leech was found to be olive green with an orange belly. Sucking at each end helps it cling to the host and at one end of the leech has a jaw that easily makes people shiver.

Although this new leech has two very close relatives living in the same area, it is officially a separate leech.

Currently, researchers are continuing to find ways to use this new leech more useful for medical purposes.
