Drinking water before taking the exam will get a higher score

The cause of this phenomenon has not been discovered, but it is very likely that our brain processes information better when neurons receive more water.

Scientists at East London University explore the effects of water on the learning ability of 60 students (both male and female) aged 7-9. The team asked all students to do some tests to test cognitive ability, reasoning and memory. They then asked half of the participants to take 250 ml of water, while the other children did not drink anything.

Just 20 minutes later, the two groups reunited as similar tests but with other content. The results showed that the average score of the second drinking group was 34% higher than the previous one, in the other group's results unchanged. When increasing the difficulty of the tests, the drinking water group still achieved 23% higher results. But for tests designed to assess short-term memory capacity, the team did not notice any difference between the two groups at both times.

'After drinking lots of water, children do some form of exercise better. Our findings suggest that water can positively impact children's thinking ability , 'said Dr. Caroline Edmonds, lead researcher.

According to Edmonds, it is possible that water increases the rate at which information is transferred between brain cells. Another possibility is that people who drink water are not distracted by the feeling of thirst. Many previous studies have shown that adult brains work more effectively after they drink water.
