Earth looks from a distance of more than 40 million kilometers out of space

The Earth looks like a small light spot with the Moon hidden behind in the image sent by NASA.

NASA announced the Earth image by recording with a special camera on September 25, Fox News reported. The ship photographed the blue planet at a distance of 43.5 million kilometers, while it was on its way to explore the Sun. The average distance between the Earth and the Sun is nearly 150 million kilometers.

The Earth is the bright spot near the center in the right picture. When the research team zoomed in and looked closely, they found an unusual bulge on the right side of the blue planet. This is the edge of the Moon that is hidden behind the Earth.

The Parker ship was launched into space by the Alliance Delta IV missile on August 12. This $ 1.5 billion mission will help scientists get closer to the Sun than ever before. As planned, Parker will be the first spacecraft to fly over the outer layer of the Sun's atmosphere.

The ship is expected to reach the Sun in November. To withstand a temperature of up to 1.370 degrees Celsius, it is equipped with a special 11.4cm shield made of carbon composite material. The ship faced intense heat and radiation when it reached about 6 million kilometers from the Sun's surface, much closer to the old record of 43.5 million kilometers established by 1976 Helios 2.

The Parker ship will borrow Venus's gravity to complete 7 flights over the Sun, gradually approaching this star. The ship will fly at a speed of about 692,000 km / h, a new record with artificial objects, in the most recent approach of 2024.
