Eight Vietnamese young scientists attend the GYSS Conference

Eight Vietnamese young scientists will participate in the second Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) with the theme 'Promoting science, Technology creation for a better world' , the team January 19-24, in Singapore.

The conference was organized by the National Research Foundation (NRF) under the Prime Minister's Office for scientists and researchers under 35 to meet and exchange with famous award-winning scientists. Gender such as Fields, Millennium Technology and Nobel.

The organizing committee of the second conference invited 357 doctors and PhD students from many countries in Asia, Europe, America, Oceania, including 69 from Singapore's universities and institutes and 13 people from other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Professor Low Teck Seng, Executive Officer of NRF, and co-chair of GYSS Organizing Committee expressed his pleasure to see more and more young Vietnamese scientists participating in major international forums like GYSS.

This year's conference will exchange the latest scientific and technological achievements and discuss solutions to global challenges. Discussions are in the areas of basic science such as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, information technology and engineering.

According to Professor Low, the GYSS conference aims to build a strong global research network and attract more talented researchers to Singapore. He said: 'Singapore is building into a science-technology center and when it becomes a center, it will be able to attract talents'.

Professor Low also said that compared to the first conference in 2013, this year's conference was larger, with 357 doctors and fellows attending and meeting with 18 famous scientific leaders in the world. , while the first conference was attended by only 285 people and 15 scientific leaders.

A series of talks between the world's leading scientists and members of Singapore's universities, research institutes and public institutions will be held for the first time in the Island. National Lion in the framework of this year's summit.

In addition, there is a competition for young scientists called Singapore Challenge. This contest aims to recognize the creative and unique ideas of GYSS young scientists in solving challenges for the development of cities in the future.

Singapore Challenge 2014 received 35 proposals from young scientists, including 1 of Vietnam.

Besides the conference for young scientists under 35, there is also an International Science Forum.

The 2014 forum was organized with the theme 'Science for Humanities in the 21st century' with 90 high school students and 31 educators from many countries around the world.
