End of the season, the storm still poured into the Pacific Ocean

In the afternoon of December 17, Typhoon Melor weakened into a low pressure area and dissipated on the East Sea. But off the Philippines, there is a new storm.

"In the next few days, we can have a tropical storm or storm," said Dan Kottlowski, AccuWeather's meteorologist.

According to experts, this year is the stormy year of the record in the Pacific, although the storm season has officially closed on the Eastern Pacific on November 30th.

Accordingly, the ACE index - used by meteorologists to assess the intensity of a tropical season, hit 765, breaking the previous record of 760 in 1992.

In addition, the Pacific Northwest appeared 16 major storms, also a record. Previously, the year with the largest storms was 1958 and 1965, with 15 storms.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the number of hurricanes in the 4-5 th scale also soared to 26, while the previous record of the 4-5 th hurricane was only 18 (1997 and 2004).

The strong storm and storms that have been around for many years in the area are thought to be caused by El Nino.

According to the Central Hydrometeorological Center, El Nino has a strong intensity and has no signs of decline, likely to last until summer 2016.
