Dubbed the 'corpse flower' because of its smell like rotting flesh, this special flower starts blooming on Christmas day in the Inhotim garden, about 445km from Rio de Janeiro and is now starting to close its wings, the real house Patricia Oliveira said the subject.

Flowers "corpses" rarely "show off"

The flower has a 72-hour life cycle, and during this time its smell along with the color like meat attracts bees and flies, Oliveira adds.

The flower has the scientific name 'Amorphophallus titanum' , with a giant 'precious' appearance, the flower of the tropical West Sumatra region. Flowers rarely bloom and are difficult to grow, and often take up to 6 years to grow.

Every day hundreds of people come to admire this special flower tree in Brazi l.

The 'dead' flowers in Brazil have reached a height of 167cm on Thursday, but trees can be over 3m tall.

When blooming, the flower has the same temperature as the human body temperature, helping it to 'spread' the smell.

This flower was first discovered by the Italian natural scientist Odoardo Beccari in 1878. 10 years later, the flower blossomed in a botanical garden in London and the next flowering was in 1926.
