On October 25th, Deutsche Bahn (DB) of Germany started to run the prototype unmanned buses in the country.

The trial runs in the town of Bad Birnbach in the east of Munich, Bayern, in southern Germany, bordering Austria and the Czech Republic.

Manufactured by EasyMile France, the bus model that can carry up to 12 people will run for free every 8 minutes along the route connecting Bad Birnbach to the pier. This vehicle is equipped with sensors and cameras to observe and calculate the path. When there is a passerby, the safety system will be activated and the vehicle running at a speed of about 15km / h will be stopped automatically.

It is expected that, from 2018, the new model will also be piloted in other locations in Germany, including Hamburg. DB hopes to deploy the bus model as a private car service, picking passengers from the house and taking them to the bus station, combining with picking up passengers along the road.
