The 743kg pumpkin won the first prize at the Summerland Pumpkin Competition, held in Kyogle, northern New South Wales, Australia. This pumpkin is grown and cared for by Mr. Dale Oliver. He also received the award for the second heaviest pumpkin with 669kg.

ABC of Australia yesterday said, this number beat the 2013 record of Dale Oliver with 619kg pumpkin. Oliver said he had planted 680kg fruits but they were not officially recognized.

"We do not grow many pumpkins because this year the spring weather is not favorable. Nobody thinks that it will rain because of the dry and windy weather. But I was very lucky to have enough irrigation and shelter good". Oliver said. His pumpkins grew faster recently because of heavy rain.

Atlantic Giant pumpkin varieties can grow in only 75-80 days. The heaviest pumpkin in the world according to Guinness record weighs 1,054kg.
