Important evidence shows that Mars is more likely to have life

An unusual mineral reservoir on Mars may be caused by bacteria, scientists said.

US scientists believe they have found evidence that life exists on Mars.

After studying rare minerals, Dr. Steven Ruff and Jack Farmer, from Arizon State University, argue that unusual surfaces on Mars may be caused by bacteria. If true, this may be one of the most important doctrines in the history of science.

According to Smithsonian, the incident began when NASA Spirit detected an unusual pattern of white opaque silica in the Gusev crater on Mars in 2009.

When looking more closely at mineral samples, scientists discovered that they were covered in cauliflower-like shapes that they could not explain.

Gusev volcano is located in the area that astronauts think was once covered by hot springs and geysers.

However, like the rest of Mars, it is now dry and barren, seemingly without signs of life.

For further research, Mr. Ruff went to the Atacama Desert in Chile, where it was also dry, lacking in life and above sea level. This is one of the places where scientists believe there is the most Mars-like environment.

Focusing on the El Tatio area of the desert, which was filled with geysers, Mr. Ruff was surprised to see samples of silica that looked similar to the Martian model, with protrusions like cauliflower.

Similar shaped minerals are also found in the US's Yellowstone National Park and in the volcanic region of Taupo in New Zealand. In these two places, fossils have all the highlights of the life of ancient microorganisms.

If the bacteria had created odd shapes in Yellowstone and New Zealand, it might have created the same thing in Chile. And it is not unreasonable to believe that Martian minerals are formed in the same way.

This cannot be concluded because even though Mars is similar to some places on the earth, these are still two very different places. However, Mr. Ruff and Farmer still proposed a conference in December. If there is more evidence of life in Mars, then Gusev volcano is the place to look for.
