Interesting stories about the 4 award-winning Fields mathematicians

On the opening day of the International Mathematical Congress held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the prestigious Fields Medal was awarded to four mathematicians.

This year four Fields mathematicians (dubbed the "Nobel Mathematical Prize") this year were Alessio Figalli of Italy, Peter Scholze of Germany, Akshay Venkatesh of India and Caucher Birkar of Iran.

The Fields award is named after Canadian mathematician John Charles Fields, awarded every four years in every World Math Congress since 1936 in Canada for mathematicians under 40 years old.

The prize is a medal with a bonus of 15,000 Canadian dollars equivalent to 14,400 USD.

In 2010, Vietnam was honored to receive this award.

This year, medals are awarded to 4 mathematicians from Italy, Germany, India and Iran.

Peter Scholze , a German, is the youngest of the four mathematicians this year to win the award when he turns 30. In the scientific world, he is considered one of the most influential mathematicians in the world.

When he was a teenager, he won 4 medals with 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal at the IMO International Math Olympiad.

Akshay Venkatesh, born in India, grew up in Australia. Venkatesh was world famous when he earned his doctorate at Princeton University at the age of 20. He was named a prodigy of Mathematics. When he was 12 years old, he soon won a medal at the IMO International Math Olympiad. Enter university when I was 13 years old majoring in mathematics and physics. 20 years old with a doctorate and 27 years old became a famous Stanford University professor in America.

Alessio Figalli , an Italian, 34 years old. An excellent student of Cédric Villani, who has won a Fields medal in history. Until the end of high school, his only concern was playing football. But everything changed when he attended the International Math Olympiad (IMO) and began to follow the path of Mathematics. Alessio Figalli, completed his doctorate in 2007 when he was 23 years old in France.

It is worth noting that this year's award was at Professor Caucher Birkar , 40 years old, a professor at Cambridge University. He was born in Iran and arrived in England as a refugee about 20 years ago. After receiving the most prestigious Mathematical Prize on the planet, Mr. Caucher Birkar placed a medal in a briefcase with his wallet and phone. About 30 minutes later, the briefcase disappeared.

The security team then found the briefcase under a bench, but the Fields medal was no longer in it.
