Ireland - Paradise for those who are afraid of snakes

You know, snakes are one of the species with relatively wide biological distribution. With just the right conditions, the snake will definitely appear.

But there is a place on this Earth, though possessing extremely perfect conditions - including meadows, marshes, forests . but there is absolutely no shadow of a snake. It is Ireland - an island nation in northwestern Europe.

According to the legend, St. Patrick used his divine power to chase away snakes - which are considered central to the devil - out to sea. It sounds attractive, but this is definitely not the reality that happened in history.

There was no sign of a snake in this place.

In fact, the reason why Ireland doesn't have snakes is mainly because it's an island!

Formerly, it used to be a long time ago, Ireland was once a large continent. But when the Ice Age happened, the temperature in the area became too low for cold-blooded reptiles - including snakes, causing them to move south.

But when the ice age ended 10,000 years ago, the ice began to melt, cold water continued to flow, engulfing the connection between Ireland and other countries today.

Historical signs show many animals - like brown bears and wild boars, who have crossed the area before it is sunk. A reptile can do it - it's a lizard. As for snakes, unfortunately, they missed the opportunity.

In Ireland, many people have ordered snakes for pets.

Over time, the absence of snakes became the reputation of Ireland, which led to the nation treating snakes as a symbol. So many people have ordered snakes for pets, and there have been many cases of sprawling out in the wild.

However, none of the snakes are fully adaptable, and Ireland still retains its integrity: the country has no snakes.
