Irma super typhoon has a time of nearly 1,300km

Super typhoon Irma can land in Florida, the US this weekend has a big time equal to the size of Texas.

Not only strong at level 5, super typhoon Irma is also described as a "giant beast" with a size comparable to that of Texas, New York Post reported on September 6.

The largest state in the south of the United States with a width of about 1160km is covered almost entirely by Irma super typhoon when meteorologist Brian James on NBC5 channel stacks photos to compare sizes.

On the evening of September 5, Hurricane Irma was about 1,265km wide, up from the previous 645km, according to meteorologist JD Rudd of Cleveland state.

On September 6, super typhoon Irma passed the Leeward Islands on the Caribbean Sea with a width of about 585km. Storm eye is about 50km wide.

Scientists have not been able to confirm whether or not Irma super typhoon landed in Florida or another US area later this week. Only three level 5 super typhoons landed in the US in 1992, 1969 and 1935.

Super typhoon Irma is expected to be strong at level 4 or level 5 if it landed in Florida. Storms can cause waves as high as 3 meters while Florida's offshore island area is only about 1.8 meters above sea level.

The biggest super typhoon on the Atlantic has killed at least 8 people while sweeping the islands of Barbuda, St Martin and St Barts on the Caribbean Sea. The number of casualties forecast to continue to increase due to the path and the destructive power of the storm.

Irma has turned 90% of Barbuda Island into ruins, leaving some 1,800 people on the island without drinking water. Many people on St Martin and St Barts Island live in blackouts. The United Nations estimates 37 million people may be affected by the typhoon Irma.
