Israel announces plans to experiment with bacteria in space

Israel will conduct four experiments with bacteria in space next October, remotely controlled by a laboratory of the Spacepharma Company of Israel.

Sheba Medical Center (SMC) in Central Israel on July 29 said the country will conduct four experiments with bacteria in the space in October.

According to a reporter in Tel Aviv, these experiments, supported by the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology, will be remotely controlled by a laboratory of the Spacepharma Company of Israel.

From French Guinea, the bacteria will be introduced into space without astronauts flying.

The first experiment will be conducted by SMC, in collaboration with Italian researchers.

This experiment will test the development of bacterial resistance to antibiotics in a weightless environment.

The study is based on bacterial damage to two antibiotics and will monitor bacterial regeneration as well as the ability to develop resistance. The results will shed light on the mechanism of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

The second experiment, conducted by the Israel University of Technology (Technion), will monitor the rate at which enzymes dissolve the rest of the bacteria - the process of causing disease . This experiment will help to understand the process of fighting bacteria and destroying functioning.

The third experiment, also conducted by Technion, will monitor how many albumin proteins in the blood molecule, a very important process for the immune system's activities.

The final experiment, conducted by Herbrew University, will examine the "twisting" of DNA tissues , the process that may shed light on the aging of cells in the human body.
