On September 11, two 10cm-sized micro-satellite units will be transported from Tanegashima Space Center to the International Space Station. A camera will be attached to this satellite to record the entire process.

Research has encountered many obstacles including the development of a special connecting cable capable of resisting high-energy rays in space to transmit electricity from the Earth to space and keeping the space elevator safe. all from collisions from space debris or meteors.

If successful, the project will help reduce costs and risks from the current spacecraft transport method.

Currently, the cost of transporting goods by spacecraft is about 20,000 USD / kg. Meanwhile the space elevator promises to withdraw this figure to only 200 USD. The researchers also expected the elevator to achieve a travel speed of about 200km / h and to the ISS space station after 8 days.
