La Nina can cause drought.

According to WMO, La Nina may be stronger with moderate intensity but may be weaker than recent La Nina events, which have caused floods and droughts in many places.

However, WMO warns that a strong La Nina phenomenon may prolong drought in the Horn of Africa, flooding in Australia and drought in Texas, USA, AP said.

La Nina is a phenomenon that occurs when equatorial water in the Pacific Ocean is colder than usual. When this happens, rain will be more in the continent.

This phenomenon also increased storms in the South Pacific and caused drought in parts of eastern Africa, southwest Asia and southern America.

In Vietnam and other countries on the Indochinese peninsula will appear to be more flood than usual.

According to scientists, usually La Nina series usually lasts from autumn of this year to the following summer. In fact, there are still years when our country did not appear La Nina, even in El Nino years or just an intermediate phenomenon, but still rained heavily.
