Meet giant 2.7m long grouper, weighs 400kg

On a fishing expedition in the shallow area near Darwin, Australia not long ago, Mr. Brad Hinks and a friend had the opportunity to encounter a giant grouper weighing hundreds of kilogram.

After crashing into the side of the two men 's boat, the grouper found every way to escape. According to Mr. Brad's estimate, this grouper has a minimum length of 2.7m and weighs over 400kg. Because the body of the fish was so bulky, Brad could see his spine clearly. The giant grouper is only about 1m away from two men before it disappears in the water.

Giant grouper is also known as Queensland grouper . This fish usually lives in tropical shallow waters at a depth of 15 - 50m. Usually giant grouper can reach 2.5m long and weigh about 360kg.

The largest record ever recorded for this fish is a 309kg grouper, caught off the coast of Fernandina, Florida on May 20, 1961.
