NASA collected urine to build the toilet

Hamilton Sundstrand (US) universe program contractor is collecting the urine of staff at Johnson Space Center, to pilot the toilet system of the new Orion module - the module will take astronauts to the moon .

Orion, will freely locate in space for up to 6 months, while astronauts work on the moon.

Modular designers must address a difficult problem of accumulating urine for long periods of time on board. Therefore, system testing is necessary. Demand for this: 30 liters per day, including weekends.

NASA has long had a tradition of collecting samples from its employees to help design better cosmic toilet systems.
