NASA discovered a strong increase in carbon emissions in the winter

Data from a satellite by the US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shows that the concentration of carbon emissions worldwide has increased dramatically, especially in the winter , with new evidence of the increase in Contaminant causes the Earth to heat up.

The findings were obtained through data from the Carbon 2 Observation Satellite (OCO-2) launched by NASA in 2014.

The satellite is supposed to measure the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in the atmosphere - the greenhouse effect produced by the burning of fossil fuels.

The parameters collected by the OCO-2 satellite have shown a big change in the carbon cycle in the Northern Hemisphere over the seasons and here in the spring, terrestrial plants have absorbed a large amount of gas. carbon.

On the contrary, during the winter, the amount of carbon absorbed by these species is minimal, but the decaying section releases carbon into the atmosphere.

This cycle and the continuous emission of carbon from the burning of fossil fuels in China, Europe and the Southeastern United States have resulted in high concentrations of carbon in April in the Northern Hemisphere. . Then, when the Spring passed, Summer came, the plants began to absorb this gas.

Another study published in the American journal Science found that the warming of the ocean or the El Nino also led to more carbon emissions in the tropics than in previous years.

Specifically, this phenomenon occurred in 2015 that led to an additional emissions of about 2.5 gigatons of carbon into the atmosphere compared to 2011, while reducing the rainfall in South America and lowering African temperatures. . In Asia, carbon emissions increase mainly due to waste incineration.

Climate change is projected to reduce rainfall for South America and increase temperatures for Africa by the end of the 21st century. Researchers even warn that this extreme weather trend will continue. more complicated developments in tropical regions.
