" Red tide " is the accumulation of bacteria with a dense degree that makes the water surface turn brown red. According to NBC, this phenomenon has just been discovered in New York port and Long Island Sound.

These red algae are moving slowly from north to south and drift to the sea. The ribbon stretched throughout Hudson, from the USS Interepid Museum in Manhattan to Hoffman Island.

This phenomenon poses a potential threat to the health of seafarers if they have contaminated water. Concentration of concentrated algae can also absorb oxygen, causing fish to die.

New Jersey Environmental Protection Institute and Hudson Health Commission recommend trainers and swimmers avoid red water and wash away any water-contaminated items.
