Saudi Arabia built the tallest skyscraper in the world

The 1,000-meter-tall Jeddah Tower tower is coming to life in Saudi Arabia and will set a new world record of height.

The Saudi government said Jeddah Economic Company and Alinma Investment had signed a $ 2.2 billion deal to build Jeddah, including a skyscraper.

As expected, this 1,000 meter high building will be inaugurated in 2020. Burj Khalifa , the tallest building in the world today, is 827 meters high.

Jeddah Tower , also known as the Kingdom Tower, consists of 200 floors and overlooks the Red Sea. According to Saudi Gazette, construction costs nearly 530,000 cubic meters of concrete and 80,000 tons of steel.

Building a high seaside structure is not an easy task because of the impact of saltwater. The 60m deep foundation needs to be resistant to saline water intruding from nearby waters. Therefore, technical manager Advanced Construction Technology Services must test the durability of many concrete types.

Wind power is another problem for this type of work. To solve the problem, the shape of the tower was changed on the floors, to disperse the wind blowing through the tower.

To transport concrete up high, engineers used the same method as Burj Khalifa, 170,000m3 of concrete was pushed by a pump at night when the temperature was low to ensure shaping capabilities.

According to Sang Dae Kim, chairman of the High-Rise Council, Jeddah tower project is feasible."At this point, we can build a tower one or two kilometers high. Buildings that are higher than that require more work," Kim said.
