Strong earthquakes along the Pacific Ocean, hundreds of casualties

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake rocked the Pacific edge of Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico, killing hundreds and wounding.

Guatemala President Otto Perez said that in his own country, the earthquake killed at least 39 people and injured 155 people. People panicked and fled the offices and houses in the area while the buildings in El Salvador and Mexico were shaken.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 4:35 pm GMT (23:35 on November 7 in Vietnam), 24 km southwest of Champerico of Guatemala and 163 from the city of Guatemala West - Southwest.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the earthquake was not in danger of causing widespread tsunami.

Panama, El Salvador and Honduras have offered to help earthquake relief for Guantelama.
