The sword was excavated from the ancient burial site of 21 tombs in Chukou City on March 14. This place could be built between the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD).

The archaeological team said most tombs were looted, except for 5 locations. Along with this rare sword, they also discovered many pottery but bowls, plates, pots . Bronze objects including swords, two spears and marks.

CCTV News said the sword belongs to the owner of the tomb and is buried when the person dies. However, the identity and status of the employer has not yet been determined. The discovery of the tomb and its accompanying objects can provide evidence of cultural and customary research in the burial of the dead in China during the Warring States and Eastern Han Dynasty.

The oldest bronze object ever found in China is a sword dating back about 5,000 years. It was excavated from an area of ​​the Ma Jiabao culture in Gansu province.
