The DNA of the mysterious Siberian unicorn species was first analyzed

In the latest discovery of paleontologists, the previously rumored legendary 'unicorn' was present in Siberia unlike what was once imagined.

Accordingly, through DNA analysis, scientists determined that it is more like an ancient rhino than a 'beast' species described as having a beautiful form of legend.

The strange ancient rhino is also not extinct 200,000 years ago before the last Ice Age as everyone knows. In fact, this animal only completely disappeared about 36,000 years ago. They even live with the first humans.

Earlier, the evidence of the existence of Siberian 'unicorns' in legends has existed in reality with little ground for lack of evidence through fossils.

Through search, paleontologists only found a few pieces of bone thought to be of an animal weighing about 3.5 tons. But each of those bases is not enough to confirm anything.

Or part of the skull fossil described in the 2016 study after using radioactive isotope detection methods identified the skull dating to 29,000 years but still not reliable enough.

Later, an international team of researchers collected up to 23 bone samples that were thought to be Siberian unicorns continuing to examine radioisotopes to see if they could recover DNA and learn more about the period. Siberian unicorn along its lifetime on Earth.

The results were surprising to researchers when the extinct animal was still alive many thousands of years later. It was 36,000 years ago, people began living in the steppe of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and North China.

The head of the Siberian unicorn may be quite large in size, evolving in a trend that is consistent with the height of the grass so that it does not have to raise its head. Besides, palaeontologists also cannot determine how big this horn is. But over a part of the skull and compared to other horned animals, the researchers guess the animal's horn is as long as 1 meter.
