The poisonous sea turtles of the jellyfish eat voraciously

The green sea turtle in the state of Queenland, Australia actively shreds the poisonous tentacles of the jellyfish eating voraciously.

Australian marine biologist Johnny Gaskell shot a young green sea turtle tearing jellyfish tentacles as food in shallow waters around Hook Island, Queenland state, according to National Geographic.

In the video posted on July 7 on YouTube, blue sea turtles about 2 - 5 years old only eat jellyfish tentacles."The interesting point in the video is that the turtle actively eats tentacles instead of jellyfish, which may contain more nutrients ," said David Gruber, an ocean ecologist and National Geographic explorer.

The biting green turtle tore the voracious chewing jellyfish.

"It is possible that the turtles usually eat are disappearing and it must eat less nutritious food than this," Gruber surmised. The waters of the Great Barrier Reef in recent years have been negatively affected by global warming.

Most of the world's 7 sea turtle species are omnivorous but mature green sea turtles mainly eat grass. However, omnivorous menus are more typical with turtles in development.

Scaly skin helps turtles not be released by tentacles when contact causes injury. Sea turtles also close their eyes to protect the most sensitive part of the body. According to Gruber, the turtle shows no signs of injury when eating tentacles shows that the animal has a healthy stomach.

Sea turtles can weigh over 320kg and live about 80 years in nature. They are vulnerable to changes in ecosystems.
