The rogue bird rattles 1.5 meters in Australian gardens

The reckless and smart bird chose to operate right in the middle of the prey, causing the tree snake to struggle only in pain.

Helen Redman in Grafton, New South Wales, Australia, witnessed an unequal battle between a tiny butcher and a 1.5-meter-long green bird while working in his home garden on September 9, according to MSN. She decided to go back to the scene of the bird trying to use a snake to remove flesh.

The attempt to drag its prey on the ground seems to be unsuccessful because the snake is too long for it.

According to Helen, she was shocked to see the bird trying to eat snake meat. The attempt to drag its prey on the ground seems to be unsuccessful because the snake is too long for it."I was cleaning the garden when I saw this little butcher bird attacking a snake on the tree. Then the snake fell to the ground. Its whole body was covered in blood and it was completely motionless. The bird killed the snake. The butcher rips the snake from the middle part because it knows the snake can't turn its head and bite it, " Helen said.

"I picked up the snake and took it back to the porch to take a picture. The bird followed me to see what I was doing. I guess it was quite angry with me for bringing his dinner. Then he tried his best. But it's too small and the snake is really big. The bird can't do anything, it's too big, " Helen said.

According to Birdlife Australia, butcher birds are fierce predators, can store food on tree branches or pointed stakes to eat later. Helen believes this bird is trying to do so. She said she had seen many reptiles like other snakes and lizards piled on trees, even in the garden chairs."The butcher is so called because they hang the prey like a butcher slaughtered. They leave their prey to return later in case they can't find anything to eat , " Helen said.
