The team of archaeologist Efi Sapouna-Sakellarakis excavated Zominthos, a massive two-storey castle built in Minoan architecture, on Mount Psiloritis, Crete Island, Fox News on October 4 reported. This is an important archaeological site dating from about 1900 BC.

In addition to the throne room, scientists also found traces of a metal workshop, pipes of a drainage system and many clay jars in the castle. Some of these jars may have been used in ancient rites.

Last year, archaeologists found the remains of an ancient city in southern Peloponnese. This city is said to be the home of prisoners from the Trojan War, an important battle that appears in Greek mythology. Also in 2018, researcher Jon Adams and his colleagues found the world's oldest intact shipwrecked in the Black Sea. The 23-meter-long ship existed from ancient Greece 2,400 years ago.
