The seal seals down the cliff for fear of people

Frightened seals throw themselves down a steep cliff on the English coast after being disturbed by visitors.

The video was filmed on the island of St Mary north of Whitley Bay and North Tyneside, Tyne and Wear County, showing that the seals were frightened by the arrival of visitors who pulled together from 5m high cliffs and fell rolling on the jagged rock beach, Sun reported on September 6.

St. Mary's Seal Watch (SMSW) said the noisy appearance of visitors at close distances can frighten the seals. The organization encourages visitors to quietly watch the seals from the land below the lighthouse instead of venturing near the cliffs.

"The status of the disturbed seals may be due to seeing visitors or hearing sounds coming from them. Some people have ignored the warning and approached the sensitive areas of wild animals, causing fear. and panic for seals " , SMSW said.

Experts say gray seals can break their flippers when falling, making them unable to swim or hunt normally.

Seals pull to St Mary's Island to conduct basic life activities such as maintaining breeds, digesting, and storing energy. Although the island is not an official breeding ground for the seals, the offspring from Farne and May islands often visit the island when learning how to defend themselves. Young seals need rest and their habitat is compromised will greatly affect their health.
