The Turkish village is rich in selling

Residents in the eastern village of Turkey earned more than $ 350,000 from the sale of meteorite debris to the area in September.

The village has a talent for selling meteorites

Residents of Saricicek, Bingol province, Turkey, still search for meteors on fields around the village. According to Haberturk, some people can buy a car or a house thanks to the sale of debris. Meteors currently cost up to 60 USD per gram.

The luckiest of the 3,200 inhabitants of the village is probably Hasan Beldek, 30 years old. Beldek found the meteorite weighs 1.5kg when he heard the invitation of his mother-in-law."I can't stand the disturbance anymore. So I went out and decided to try it. I searched the area for 3-4 hours. Then the black stone bigger than the man's hand appeared immediately. before my eyes , " said Beldek.

According to the BBC, Beldek declined the offer to buy the stone for $ 120,000, because he thought the meteorite block had a higher value. Beldek plans to use the money he has to open a bakery with his brother in Istanbul.

A hunt for a similar meteorite took place in Chelyabinsk, Russia, in 2013 after a giant meteor hit the debris on a large area before plunging into the lake. At that time, although the meteorite minerals were not the subject of concern for scientists, their fragments were still highly paid by researchers and collectors.
