During a vacation in the largest island in Greece, a male tourist accidentally found a precious antique vase dating back hundreds of years.

Admittedly, any surprises can happen during a vacation. This is true of Heraklio's story, a male tourist visiting the island of Crete, Greece, accidentally and lucky to find a precious old vase dating from the 12th century .

Heraklio said that during the holiday, many pictures were taken on Crete. When he looked at the image he had just taken, he saw an object with a round shape, floating on the water but did not see clearly.

Startled by the idea that it was the head of a victim floating on the water, Heraklio rushed to tell the lifeguard. The group took the surfboard to the sea to search. And the unexpected thing was that it was an old vase of hundreds of years of age.

The vase was covered with many other small items, but still intact. Archaeologists believe that the vase dates back to the Eastern Roman Empire in the 12-13 century. It was a Roman item used to store items such as wine, oil or cereal.

After that, the whole group handed over the old vase to the Greek General Department of Stock on September 4. Local authorities also said that any historical item found by visitors is a national asset. Experts recommend that people should not move antiques because they can damage them.
