Tuyen Quang: Discovering many ancient monuments in Son Duong

On August 2, Mr. Ly Manh Thang, Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Provincial Museum, said that since the beginning of the year, the archaeological survey team of the Vietnam Institute of Archeology and Tuyen Quang Provincial Museum have discovered many Ancient area in Son Duong district.

In the monuments, typically Lang Dao pagoda (Tan Hong village, Tu Thinh commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang). Through the initial excavation, the archaeological team discovered the vestiges of an ancient religious work, with three pitches of lemon blossom tiles, which were built during the Tran Dynasty, the XIII-XIV century and existed until the Le dynasty. Profile, XV-XVII century. This is one of the two most typical monuments found in Vietnam and is quite intact with many valuable artifacts.

Also through the survey, the archaeological team discovered the grave site of the Hung Vuong period in Thuong Am commune, Son Duong district. Based on the material characteristics, designs and patterns of the pots and pots as well as the type of burial, archaeologists initially determined that this is the grave of the Dong Son pre-cultural period, belonging to the cultural period. Go Mun, dating to nearly 3,000 years.

In addition, the delegation also discovered an ancient well in Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district; megalithic relics in Tuan Lo commune, Son Duong district; collected a fossil elephant in Hong Lac commune, Son Duong district .

Archaeological delegation of the Vietnam Institute of Archeology and Tuyen Quang Provincial Museum are developing an excavation plan and organizing the preservation and research of detected relics and artifacts.
