Prof. Phan Thanh Son Nam is Head of Department of Chemical Engineering, Hanoi University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University). He is the main author of the scientific work "Synthesis of propargylamine from N-methylaniline and terminal alkyne through methylation pathway and direct activation of CH link using the Cu2 (BDC) 2 (DABCO) material to contact work '.

The work focused on the application of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as catalysts for the synthesis of organic compounds of the propargylamine family and the discovery of an unprecedented transformation of N-methilaniline. dad.

Associate Professor Nguyen Sum is working at Quy Nhon University (Binh Dinh). His work on "Peterson's hit problem" (On the Peterson hit problem, Advances in Mathematics, Vol. 274, 432-489) has been remarkably excellent when dealing with the special case of the "hit" hypothesis. proposed by American mathematician Frank Peterson more than 30 years ago. The work is done entirely in the country because the only author is Dr. Nguyen Sum.

This is the third year Asian Scientist announces the list of top 100 Asian scientists. In 2016, Vietnam had two female scientists who were included in this ranking: Dr. Tran Lien Ha Phuong (International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University) and Dr. Dang Thi Oanh (University of Information Technology - Thai Nguyen university). In 2017, Associate Professor Le Thi Kim Phung (Ho Chi Minh City Polytechnic University) is also ranked in this field in the field of agricultural science.
