Use GPS as a flashlight

Industrial art designers at Designaffairs Studio in Germany have introduced the idea of a Tamtam 'GPS torch', a compact navigation device that features a projector.

It can be held in the hand as a flashlight, to determine their location, users just turn the button and turn a Tamtam head on the wall or path. All coordinates, map images can be displayed on it. According to the designers, users can zoom in and zoom out the map.

When you switch to navigation mode, the map projection replaces the directional arrows that help users navigate to a predetermined location. However, Tamtam is just a design, not a specific product.

On the market, only the Maptor location flashlight was designed by Korean designers Jin-Sun Park and Seon-keun Park in the summer of 2009. However, Maptor has no navigation features such as Tamtam.

Designers Tamtam said they would add local information such as tourist destinations, restaurants, etc. to make a difference compared to competing products.
