An interesting time-lapse video depicting the white blood cells attacking the parasite has been posted online by recent scientific researchers.

Previously, the researchers had placed the parasite into a gene before eosinophil was taken from the bone marrow of a mouse inside.

The reason for scientists choosing eosinophils among the three main types of human leukocytes is: neutrophil, basophil and eosinophil. The researchers explained that eosinophil leukocytes often play a major role in fighting parasites and cancer cells as well as taking part in controlling common allergies. Therefore, the choice of eosinophil is the most reasonable.

After an hour of testing, scientists found that up to thousands of eosinophil leukocytes attacked the parasite in the same way that ants tried to protect their nest when there was an intrusion. This type of attack causes the parasites to actually be destroyed and unable to react.
