Video: 'Green Dragon' poisoned Australia's coast

Strange and dangerous sea creatures descend on a coast in Queensland, Australia, often referred to as the blue dragon.

According to Grind TV, Lucinda Fry, a Gold Coast resident, Queensland, caught an electric blue sea slug stranded on the coast. She then recorded the pictures of it and shared the video on Facebook.

The sea slug has the scientific name Glaucus atlanticus , but is often called the blue dragon . This mollusca is only three centimeters long when mature but can be very toxic.

"I used to touch the green dragon and not get burned, but people should not touch it because its sting is very painful," Gold Coast Bulletin on November 14 quoted Professor Kylie Pitt at Griffith University, Australia.

The sea slug washed ashore when swimming along its favorite food, the fluffy jellyfish (Portuguese man o 'wars). The jellyfish were blown by the east wind toward the Gold Coast. Nudibranchs often eat the venom-containing tassels of magnificent jellyfish. "Instead of digesting venom injection cells, green dragons store evidence outside the body," Pitt said.
