The Dasycercus cristicauda mouse has a very characteristic tail with a long black hair band that looks like a horse mane.

The mouse Dasycercus cristicauda weighs about 150g and is 30cm long. They have very characteristic tails with long black hairs that look like horsehair. This tiny rodent seems to have become extinct after more than 100 years of "disappearing". However, on December 15, they were discovered by scientists at the University of New South Wales, Australia.
