Vietnamese scientist was honored by the President of Poland

A Vietnamese scientist working in Poland has been given the decision by the President of the country Bronisław Komorowski to appoint a state-level professor.

The ceremony to receive the title of professor for Doctor of Science Mai Xuan Ly took place on April 22 in the Polish presidential palace.

This information was confirmed by Professor Mai Xuan Ly with the PV today. He became the third Vietnamese to receive the title from the Polish state.

Professor Mai Xuan Ly is working at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences. The noble title is a recognition of his contributions to Polish scientific development.

"It is a great pleasure not only for my family, but also for the Vietnamese community in Poland," said the Polish president , " Professor Ly said.

"It will motivate me a lot in the research and development of scientific calculation at a young age in the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Science and Technology Calculation in particular and Vietnam in general," Professor Ly added.

Professor Mai Xuan Ly was born in 1953 in Thanh Hoa. He graduated from high school in 1970. From 1970 to 1976, he studied at the University of Kishiniov, Moldova, majoring in theoretical physics.

He currently works at the Institute of Physics, the Polish Academy of Sciences, in Warsaw. Since 2009, he has been Head of Life Science and a scientific advisor to the Institute of Science and Technology in Ho Chi Minh City.
