It is very dangerous to come to Saudi Arabia without knowing the law of this country, because it is the only nation that has a constitution based on the Koran. Recently, the news site Express has compiled a list of what should and should not do when coming to this Gulf country.

Taboo in Saudi Arabia

1. Prohibit adult movies

Saudi Arabia's law prohibits the installation of sex movies in phones or tablets. Even images of 'lacking in cloth' especially women 's pictures are prohibited.

The customs force will check all images on your phone and if they encounter any images deemed inappropriate, your phone will immediately be confiscated.

2. Prohibit taking photos of buildings

Visitors are not allowed to take photos of government buildings, military bases and palaces. In addition, people should avoid taking photos of locals - especially Saudi Arabia men without their permission - and never point the camera at any woman.

3. Prohibit eating, drinking and smoking in public places

Ramandan is the 9th month according to the Islamic calendar, and all the days of this month are vegetarian times. Therefore, eating, drinking or smoking in public places is completely prohibited during all Ramandan days.

4. Prohibit hot dogs and sandwich bread

The government of Saudi Arabia prohibits the import of pork, so the processing of pork and pork products such as sausages, bacon . is also strictly prohibited.

5. Prohibit everything in red on Valentine's Day

It is known that flower shops and gifts are prohibited from selling red roses, and anything with heart or red shapes on Valentine's Day. This regulation is established by the Ethics and Compensation Prevention Committee (CPVPV). It is thought that that 'holiday' is not Muslim and therefore it is easy for people to get lost.

6. Prohibit visiting theaters

It is thought that cinemas are chaotic places where both men and women are not supervised. This will lead to unscrupulous acts outside of marriage. Therefore, if you want to see the latest cinematographic works, people of Saudi Arabia only have to fly to other countries. And in fact many people in this country come to Bahrain whenever they want to watch movies.

7. Prohibit teaching music in school

All music teaching in public places is prohibited and therefore, if you want to learn any instrument you have to learn a 'sneaky' way. Usually, wealthy families in Saudi Arabia must invite music tutors to come home to teach their children.

8. Prohibit women from exercising

Previously there were gyms for women only, but recently religious police decided to close them.

9. Prohibit any other religion other than Islam

According to Saudi officials, trust in any religion other than Islam is prohibited. In fact, it is impossible to find any church in this country. If someone wants to convert from Islam or throw away their religion, they will be subject to the death penalty.

10. Prohibit women from driving

If you are a woman, you will not be allowed to drive unless you are on a desert or in a private area. For Saudi women, the only way to travel by car is to have a private driver.
It is thought that if women drive, they will be able to leave the house more often than necessary.

11. Prohibit drinking on flights to Saudi Arabia

Passengers are unable to travel to this Gulf country with a strong odor of alcohol on their bodies, and there are certainly no alcoholic beverages allowed to sell on flights to Saudi Arabia. Everyone who owns or trades alcohol will be arrested and imprisoned.
