Why do ancient Egyptians only sex in the summer?

A new study revealed, ancient Egyptians mainly sex in the summer.

Archaeologists studying at a cemetery in Egypt's Dakhleh oasis unearthed 765 ancient tombs. Since then, they have been able to determine the death month of the dead because all graves are pointing towards the sunrise.

According to Live Science, among the excavated tombs, the archaeological team found 124 tombs of children who died during the week of pregnancy between 18 and 45 weeks.

Combining the above two information, the researchers were able to identify the most popular "love" time of the ancient Egyptians. They said that the ancient Egyptians concentrated on "that" the most in July and August . This means that the number of children born in March and April will be 20% more than the other months of the year. Therefore, most cases of women of childbearing age also occur in these months.

This finding is particularly astonishing because in other Mediterranean cultures, fewer children are conceived during the summer because of heat reduces sexual desire and can affect sperm quality.

The research team hypothesized that, in ancient Egypt, the belief in fertility associated with the Nile flood season was the cause of the baby boom. Residents of Dakhleh oasis believe that the river plays a key role in creating the fertility of this land and the floods that occur during the summer months mean a wave of celebrations.

The trend of spring births "peak" (thanks to conception in the summer) is expected to continue until the 1920s and 1930s.
